Made: Spool, the brick and mortar

Posted on September 02, 2015 by Michelle Lancet | 0 comments

Makers, we're ready to shout it from our Allentown hilltop!

We are ready to open our doors to you!

Wow, that felt really good. Before you have a chance to ask-yes, there will be a party! Don't ever doubt the party.

All summer long we wielded power tools instead of sewing machines. We've finally put the tools away and are ready to put the fabric in your hands (after we do some proper ogling of course), teach, and yes, gather with you!

While the brick and mortar shop was getting all spiffy, our online shop was getting a makeover as well. Afterall, we couldn't ignore our first baby! You'll see that the new site yields easier searching for fabrics, patterns, and studio happenings. There are new sections for classes, private events, sew-by-the-hour studio rentals, and information on how to get here. Hopefully, you'll find everything you need to make Spool a favorite destination both online and in-person.

We will be throwing open the doors for our grand opening on Sunday, September 13. From Noon to 4 pm, you'll be able to shop with your friends and family and sample some local eats. Not to mention, chances to win some awesome fabric-y prizes! Then we're going to close the register and simply talk and party with all of you grown-up Spool supporters from 6-9 pm. You'll be able to spot us-we'll be the ones sipping bubbly while twirling in our party dresses.

We can't wait!

When the Colette Myrtle pattern was released late last Summer, I knew rather quickly that I wanted to make one.
