I know that at least a couple of our readers have already made themselves a Plantain Tee, and why not? It’s a free pattern from French pattern designers Deer and Doe and has some nice options to make it your own. You can choose from three sleeve lengths and it includes optional elbow patches.
I chose this stretchy striped knit and went with the long sleeved version. This fabric is so wide that I think I’ll have enough left to make a tank as well.
It has a generous scoop neck that you could easily alter to suit your fancy. I used a double needle on the neckline and hems.
The top flares out ever so slightly at the hips and the long sleeves are plenty long for me. So…perfect! This knit is soft and silky and so far it’s really keeping it’s shape. I may always prefer sewing with wovens, but I just might be wearing this comfy knit while doing it.
